About Our Online Stickhandling Programs

Online Stickhandling was developed by Lance Pitlick.  As an NHL player Lance soon realized that the successful players all had the great ability to control the puck in all situations allowing them to gain space, buy time and make plays.  He found it was difficult even for the best defensemen in the league to shut these players down. Upon retiring from the NHL he set out on a mission to develop ways to teach young players the stick skills he had seen so much in the NHL.
As the founder of Sweet Hockey and the inventor of SweetHands stickhandling trainer he has significantly researched the art of stickhandling from the basic, technical skills to the explosive, high speed moves performed by the elite players in the NHL.  He understood that without correct technique of basic skills the elite moves could never be mastered.  Lance also realized that to be able effectively reach young players two things were necessary.

  1. Provide an effective and affordable program.
  2. Create lesson plans that are not only developmentally effective but also fun and challenging.

Online Stickhandling meets both of these expectations.  Our programs take a player through a progressive series of video training exercises and drills in an online environment; from basic stickhandling to moves used by elite Collegiate and NHL players. Training can be conveniently practiced in a player’s own home and done at times that best accommodate their schedule. Think of Online Stickhandling as a virtual hockey camp with one-on-one instruction.

Lance’s passion for the game and passion for stickhandling is evident in every one of the training modules.  This passion is contagious and now can be realized by any player who wants to significantly improve their stickhandling skills.

  • Do your Online Stickhandling Programs replace going to hockey school?
Our programs do NOT replace going to hockey school. We provide the player with off-ice training which complements the on-ice training. Most on-ice training is team practice and there is only a limited amount of time available in practice to work on individual skill development. Off-ice training provides you the opportunity to dedicate time to improve your skills.
  • Can the drills be done on ice?
Drills are practiced off-ice but the skills developed are used on-ice. We do not do anything off-ice that you cannot do on-ice.
  • Can a player re-use his/her subscription?
If you sign up for any of our programs and wish to re-subscribe, you may reuse your subscription at anytime by sending us an email or by calling 1-877-793-3883 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              1-877-793-3883      end_of_the_skype_highlighting.
